When the invading army marches into Carina's village, she briefly hopes life won't change much. The soldiers waste no time, however, in dashing her hopes. They grab her and force her onto her back with her legs spread even as she struggles. All the village women belong to them now, and they're eager to get some relief.
The kingdom is all but conquered, and the invading army makes more progress each day. The militia meant to defend Carina’s village is gone, and now she and the other women watch in horror as the enemy soldiers march in. She briefly hopes life won’t change much despite being conquered, but they waste no time in dashing her hopes.
The soldiers grab her and pin her to the ground. They force her legs apart even as the same thing happens to other women all around her. Every woman here belongs to the enemy soldiers now, and they’re eager to get some relief.
